The Gainesville Suzuki Players (G.S.P.) was founded officially in 1969 by Sonnhild F. Kitts. Mrs. Kitts originally started teaching in 1966. Mrs Kitts' program is the fifth oldest program Suzuki program in the Country. it is now being directed by two of her 5 children, Jennifer Kitts Guzman and Stewart Kitts.

Gainesville Suzuki Players is a Suzuki group as well as a String Orchestra that meets every Monday at Celebration United Methodist Church. It is open to any music student in Alachua County. 5:00-6:30 Suzuki Violin Group classes and 6:30-7:30 String Orchestra (open to violin, viola, cello and Bass students)
